Who Doesn't Love Rockets?
This was one pack activity to always remember... We started off making little rockets, by using film canisters and alka-seltzer tabs, then moved to the stomp rocket and then on to the Big One!! You'll have to ask the boys how far that one launched into the air!!! I think the Dads had just as much fun if not more than the boys.

May Theme!!
Leaf It To Cubs
Cub Scouts hopefully will learn about the wonders of nature's gift to us, a tree! Now would be a good time to identify poison oak, poison ivy and various trees by their shape and leaf design. Try leaf rubbing, leaf prints, making a leaf collage, preserving leaves with wax paper or making a leaf collection from fallen leaves. Make a leaf boat and race it down a stream or river. Participate in a tree planting or your local Arbor Day activities. Either adopt a tree or plant one and watch it grow. Help the child research how trees are used to help us in our daily lives. Field trips can be to a lumberyard, nature center, forest preserve or local park. Earn the Collecting belt loop and pin.Posted by Akela at 1:32 PM 0 comments

April Pack Meeting

Next pack meeting is tentatively scheduled for 24 April at 6 p.m. The theme of the pack meeting is "Everything is Magic!" and will include a visit by Carnac the Magnificent! The part of Ed McMahon will be played by Aaron Burks

Family idea
Since this month’s theme deals with magic, this would be a good time to teach children to understand the difference between the real world and the make-believe world they encounter every day through television, movies, video games, and other media. One of the suggested activities in the Knowing It’s Make-Believe section of the Cub Scouting's BSA Family Activity Book is to perform magic tricks with your children-and them explain how some things they see in the media are just tricks, too.
